Hand made Jewellery from Kenyan silversmith and jeweler Brian Kivuti
Kenyan born & raised, Brian Kivuti is a self-described Treasure Maker; a multi-disciplinary artist currently practicing artist-jewellery. Trained in Jewellery & Silversmithing (BA, 2012) within Edinburgh University, Brian Kivuti maintains his practice at his private atelier in Nairobi, Kenya.
Fine silver is a primary material found in his jewellery; favoured for its versatility and shine, he often plays with variations in texture and finish. This is often combined with other materials such as carved bone, ankole horn, or wood to further accentuate these finishes. Works in the disciplines of painting and sculpture are frequently multimedia, with an affinity to inks, organic matter, and clay. - Brian Kivuti.
